The Calumet Boat Patrol is sporting a new, more casual uniform for 2001. the new uniform is a "hunter green" golf type shirt with an embroidered badge and officers name on it. In addition, officers have the choice of either khaki pants or shorts. This new look should keep the officers more comfortable while performing boat patrol duties. NEW PFD's!!! The Boat Patrol aquired several types of PFD's for 2001. These include Mustang Air Force inflatable PFD's, Mustang Type 5 survival suits for cold water use, and Stearns Type 3 float coats. With several types of PFD's availible to boat patrol officers, the officer can chose which fits his or her needs the best. NEW ELECTRONICS!!! The Boat Patrol has installed a JRC 16 nautical mile radar. This unique piece of equipment enables boat patrol crewmembers to "see" ojects in the dark and low visibilty conditions. Items as small as personal watercraft have been picked up on the radar screen. The radar is an indespensible tool for search and rescue (SAR) mission and law enforcement actions. NEW BOATING SAFETY POWER POINT PRESENTATION!!! The Boat Patrol has a new edition Power Point presentation for the Wisconsin Boating Safety Course. If you are a boating safety instructor and use Power Point for your classes, I would be more than happy to provide you with a FREE Power Point Boating Safety Presentation. All I ask is that you send me a CD-R disk (to replace the one I send out). E-mail me for details. THE SINKING BOAT!!! The Calumet Boat Patrol has built a sinking boat that we use for our boating safety classes. Check it out on the "Sinking Boat Page".

What's New With The Boat?
Basically EVERYTHING!!! Our boat is a 2000 Grady-White Sportsman 180 center console boat. She is 18 feet long and powered by a Mercury Optimax 150 hp outboard engine. Despite being only 18 feet long, she will handle just about anything Lake Winnebago will dish out.
