The helm of the patrol boat.

This is the helm of the Calumet County Patrol Boat. Here you see the following in clockwise order starting with the top: JRC 16mn radar screen, Hummingbird depth finder, Motorala Radius police radio, Federal Signal Corp. siren and loud hailer, Garmin 126 GPS, Uniden Marine VHF radio, and cell phone.

JRC 16 Nautical Mile Radar
This is the radome of our JRC radar. The radome contains both the recieving and transmitting antenaes of the radar. It is mounted atop a retractable mast that can be lowered to allow the patrol boat to fit into it's storage shed.
Radar Display Screen
Once the radar beam is transmitted and recieved, the information is displayed on the radar display screen. Here you see the east shore of Lake Winnebago. The radar has been a very valuble search and rescue tool for us. We can find targets as small as personal water craft and rowboats.
Safety Gear and Type IV PFD
Here you see the type IV PFD (throwable) with a floating strobe light. Extra lines are also stowed in this area.
Skiff Hook Mounted on a Boat Hook
This is a skiff hook which is mounted on the end of a boat hook. this enables crewmembers to safely attach a line to the towing eye of boats without fear of collision with the towed boat.
First Aid kit and Floating Stokes Basket
Added in 2002 was a folding floating stokes basket. This piece of equipment acts as a floating stretcher. In the basket is our first aid kit.
Mercury Optimax 150
Our boat is powered by a Mercury Optimax 150 horsepower outboard motor. This motor is the latest in Mercury's line of fine engines. It is extremely fuel efficient and meets the latest clean air standards for outboard engines.
Calumet County Park Boat Ramp
This is Calumet County Park boat ramp on a typical Sunday afternoon. Often times there can be over 3000 boats on Lake Winnebago.
Sailing
A pair of sailboats makes a pretty picture off of High Cliff State Park.
Boat Rescue
A 21 foot cabin cruiser is towed in in the face of a storm by our 18 foot patrol boat.
Another Boat Rescue
A 24' boat ends it's day by being towed in by the Calumet Patrol Boat.

Deputy Rick Riemer Recieves Award
Deputy Rick Riemer receives a Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Instructor Appreciation Award for his work on developing and implementing a Boating Safety Power Point program for boating safety instructors.
Deputy Rick Riemer Receives 2003 Wisconsin Boat Patrol Officer of the Year Award
Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Boating Law Administrator John Lachenski presents the 2003 Wisconsin Boat Patrol Officer of the Year Award to Deputy Rick Riemer. The award is sponsored by the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators and was presented to Deputy Riemer on July 24 , 2003 at High Cliff State Park.
